Siz's Version of Best in 2007

Book of the Year:
Zaatar Days, Henna Nights by Maliha Masood.

Masood made me feel that her learning experience in the Middle East is very similar to mine in Tunisia.

Movie of the Year
The Simpsons Movie

TV Series/Program of the Year:

Heroes
I don't understand anyone who doesn't like this series.

Advertisement of the Year:
I know I’m not a Kiwi, but…

Song of the Year:
Everything – Michael Bublé
I know a lot of you would argue that Bublé’s song are not
even ‘real’ jazz, but screw you hippie, I love Bublé. Nyer!

CD of the Year:
Desert Lounge Vol. 2
I just love this album so much.

Restaurant/Bar/Lounge of the Year:
Al Nafoura Lebanese Restaurant at Le Meridien Hotel, Jakarta
This is the restaurant where I had my birthday dinner with my family. I had a surpri
singly great time and the food was surprisingly good (yes, they had belly dancing and sheesha).

Food of the Year:
Love Potions Tim Tams

I can eat these forever!

Drink of the Year:
Rose tea
Especially when it's sweet.

Purchase of the Year:
My MP3 player.
My beloved friend to beat the horrible traffic of Jakarta.

Most Inspiring Person/People:
Alvin
Fayed Hussein Humardhani

For always being so joyous and cheerful.

Personal/Professional Accomplishment I Have to Truly Acknowledge:
Having my first ever article published on the Sunday edition of The Jakarta Post.
I really, really didn't expect that to happen.

Best thing I’ve done:
Being present at an interview with Hassan Wirayuda, the Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs
Although this opportunity was just thrown to me - I didn't have to put any effort to get it - it was an unforgettable experience. Wirajuda impressed me for his eloquence, intelligence, and tact. He actually made me proud to be an Indonesian.
